Shirley Kinsey

Shirley Kinsey is a Florida A&M University graduate and, with her husband Bernard, one of the country’s best-known collectors of African American art, documents, and artifacts. Their Kinsey African American Art & History Collection has traveled widely and introduced millions of visitors to the Black experience from the sixteenth century to the present.

Co-builder of the Kinsey Collection, seen by more than 16 million people worldwide.
Co-founder of the Bernard and Shirley Kinsey Foundation for Arts and Education, which supports cultural institutions and underserved youth.
Inducted into the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame in 2024 in Arts & Entertainment.
