Rev. Dr. Charles Luther Johnson, Sr. (1944–2022) was a Claflin University alumnus and United Methodist pastor in South Carolina. Born in Charleston, he served congregations and conference leadership roles for decades and is honored posthumously.
Accomplishments
District Superintendent of the Greenville District, South Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Later chaired the Order of Elders on the conference Board of Ordained Ministry.
Inducted posthumously into the NBCA Hall of Fame in 2022 in Faith and Theology.
