Dr. Cleveland L. Sellers Jr. grew up in Denmark, South Carolina, in the orbit of Voorhees, later becoming the college’s eighth president. A SNCC leader and Orangeburg Massacre survivor, he is a pardoned civil rights activist, author, educator, and longtime advocate for HBCUs.
