Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, PH. D.

Alma S. Adams is a North Carolina A&T artist, professor, and member of Congress. Before Washington she taught art for decades and served on the Greensboro City Council and in the North Carolina House, then won a special election to the U.S. House in 2014.

Professor of art at Bennett College for more than 40 years.
U.S. representative from North Carolina and a founder of the Bipartisan HBCU Caucus.
Inducted into the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame in 2020.
