About
Fred Gray, an Alabama State alumnus, was the young lawyer for Rosa Parks, the Montgomery bus boycott, and later the Tuskegee syphilis-study survivors. He called his life’s work “destroying everything segregated I could find.”
Accomplishments
- Counsel in Browder v. Gayle, which ended bus segregation in Montgomery.
- Represented victims of the Tuskegee syphilis study.
- Inducted into the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame in 2003.
