About
James W. Bowden, Sr., raised in Great Falls, South Carolina, was among the first African American students at Great Falls High School under freedom-of-choice desegregation. He graduated from Denmark Technical College in 1972 and again in 1993, and has spent more than five decades supporting the college as an alumnus and trustee.
Accomplishments
- Denmark Technical College Area Commissioner and president of its National Alumni Association.
- Former Denmark Tech Foundation board member; degrees in electronics and industrial technology.
- Inducted into the NBCA Hall of Fame in 2023 for Lifetime Achievement.
