Clara Adams-Ender, a North Carolina A&T graduate, rose to brigadier general in the Army Nurse Corps and became the chief of the Corps. She later wrote about leadership and mentoring in military nursing.

- First woman to earn a master’s degree from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
