Debbie Allen

Debbie Allen is a Howard University alumna, dancer, choreographer, actress, and director. She became widely known as Lydia Grant on Fame, then produced and directed much of A Different World, helping shape how HBCU campus life appeared on national television.

• Won multiple Emmy Awards for choreography on Fame.
• Produced and directed dozens of episodes of A Different World.
• Inducted into the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame in 1999.
