The Programs and Initiatives are designed and implemented to highlight the accomplishments of Historically Black Colleges and Universities through their graduates and students.
We have been able to effectively impact growth and development through our initiatives and these signature programs listed below in which we seek support:
ANNUAL ALUMNI HALL OF FAME WEEKEND
The Annual Hall of Fame Weekend is the Hall of Fame’s vehicle that promotes the viability of our HBCUs, while at the same time provides a forum for students, faculty and staff, and alumni to sharpen their skills and increase their capabilities through workshops, seminars, programs and institutes. The conferees’ interaction with, and exposure to, the resources, talents and expertise of educators, scholars, theorists, researchers and practitioners equip and empower them to better serve their respective communities.

THE COMPETITION OF HBCU COLLEGE QUEENS
This program showcases young women from HBCUs with the coveted title of “Queen” of their institution. The queens are judged in five categories. Miss National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame serves as a national representative and advocate of HBCUs and receives an academic scholarship and prizes as well as to serve as a panelist for the Legacy Lecture Series campus tours.
The Positive Image Program enlighten to elementary, middle, and high school students on the viability of HBCUS an option for higher learning. Participants of the Queens Competition, education, community, and business leaders encourage self-esteem.

INDUCTION CEREMONY
The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony highlights and honors deserving HBCU graduates for their distinguished service to their country, Alma Mater and excelling in their field of endeavor. For more than 33 years, the Hall of Fame has celebrated inductees in the following fields: Arts & Entertainment, Athletics, Business and Industry, Community Service, Civil Rights, Education, Faith and Theology, Government & Law, Medicine, Science, Lifetime Achievement and the Chairman’s Award. The Chairman Award is a special celebration of achievements.

LEGACY OF LEADERS ALUMNI LUNCHEON
The Legacy of Leaders Alumni Luncheon is a gathering of very active alumni of HBCU’s where they can reconnect and also be rewarded for their efforts throughout the year. Awards such as National Alumni Association of the Year are given out to commend alumni on their hardworking efforts. This event is held during Hall of Fame Weekend on Friday morning. After the luncheon a workshop is held and there is a possibility of prizes being drawn the name of a school’s alumni chapter.

QUEEN’S TEA
The NBCA Hall of Fame hosts is annual Queens Tea as the opening event to the Competition of HBCU College Queens. This is a fun meet and greet, that allows the Queens to network with guests, as wells as, other participating HBCU Queens and Kings. The Tea usually has a theme, such as Fascinators & Fedoras, where we encourage the ladies to wear fascinators, heels, and white gloves. The gentlemen are asked to were fedoras, bowties, and colorful socks. We then have everyone to walk the red carpet to show off their individuality and vote amongst themselves to ascertain who had the most style.

HBCU INVITATIONAL GOLF CLASSIC
The NBCAHOF Golf Tournament attracts the elite Division I and Division II HBCU golf teams and is the largest HBCU golf classic sanctioned by the NCAA. It provides a platform for players to demonstrate their talents in a showcase that honors a rich history in collegiate competition.

THE CHEFS OF THE WORLD
Chefs of the World A Taste of Fame is a fundraising event which showcases exquisite creations by top chefs of the world, recognizing them for their culinary accomplishments.
Proceeds from this event will support scholarships for students pursuing degrees in Hospitality and Culinary Arts and for training /capacity building of alumni and students to ensure a healthy, employable workforce.

THOMAS W. DORTCH, JR. BIRTHDAY BASH
Chairman of the Board, Thomas W. Dortch, Jr., hosts this annual event which affords HBCU alumni, alumni associations and other stakeholders to come together in a social setting to rededicate their commitment and support to their alma mater.
