Saint Augustine’s University
From a little African girl learning to love her identity, to a soldier learning the values of duty and respect, to a student who was given the opportunity to soar. Heave Nahra is a senior, Computer Information Systems Major, from Alexandria, VA. Vying to be Miss NBCA Hall of Fame 2020-2021. Her time at Saint Augustine’s University has been productive and fulfilling.
She is the Public Relations Officer of Campus Activities Board. She is a member of the Saint Augustine’s University Chamber Singers. Heave is also a part of the NCICU Ethics Bowl Team. She became a charter member of the Saint Augustine’s Section of the National Council of Negro Woman. Heave also serves as the Pre-Alumni Council President and is currently serving in the United States Army Reserve.
While engaging on campus she manages to stay ahead of her academics. Since 2017 she has remained on the Deans and Provost List. In 2018 she participated in her first pageant and was crowned Miss Black and Gold. In 2019 she was inducted into Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society. Also, she was delighted to represent the university as Miss UNCF. In February of 2020 she had the honor and pleasure of representing the university in the Miss National UNCF Pageant. They took first place by gathering the most toiletry items, (Four Thousand Nine Hundred and Nine).
Her platform “In My Skin” is to promote self-confidence, self- awareness, and HBCU culture. Every day at an HBCU is a celebration. A Celebration of our lives, our freedom, our culture and our beliefs. As an HBCU Queen she plans to encourage every student to embrace school pride, community engagement, recruitment, and self-love.
