Amiya JaBrea Crockrom is the youngest daughter of Wayne and Cynthia Crockrom. Amiya was born on January 28, 1999 in Chicago, Illinois. She is currently a graduating senior at the Illustrious Clark Atlanta University, with a 3.5 GPA, majoring in Mass Media Arts with a concentration in Radio, TV, and Film. Amiya is currently serving as the 32nd Miss Clark Atlanta University.
From a young age, Amiya has always had a love for being involved in school and in her community, and her true passion is in music and performing. She has been developing her vocal talents since the age of 8 years old, with the After School Matters: Artist Development Program. She has attended Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church since birth, and through her active involvement in the church and her willingness to serve its members through song
Amiya has also found her passion in many places on Clark Atlanta’s campus. She is a part of numerous organizations such as Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, CAU Choir, Orientation Guide Corps, CAU NSLS, and CAU Pre-Alumni Council. While she remains active on her campus, Amiya continues to serve the community; she works as a student teacher at an elementary school in the Atlanta area.
Her aspiration in life is to find what truly makes her happy and live life to the fullest, while inspiring every person that she encounters to do the same. When Amiya graduates from college, she wants to open a nonprofit program for black youth that aids in the elimination of the school to prison pipeline. The program will have scholarship opportunities, community service opportunities, high school/ college readiness and cultural experiences. Lastly, in everything she does, she always reminds herself of what God’s promises for her in His word, in Jeremiah 29:11.
