Induction Ceremony
Sixteen Black college graduates were inducted into the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame during the 30th Anniversary Weekend. Notable among the inductees were the Jones Brothers, which consist of six brothers (the only known family in the world), where six siblings played a professional sport. Also prominent among the inductees were former New York Mayor, David Dinkins; former surgeon general, Regina Benjamin; film producer, Will Packer; renowned musician, Will Downing; community service activist, Elisabeth Omilami; Brigadier General, Clara Adams-Ender; the first African American to own a company that exceeds two billion dollars in annual revenue, Janice Howroyd; and the Honorable Tommie Colbert, Sr.. Atlanta retired television news anchor Monica Kaufman Pearson of WSB-TV, served as the emcee, and jazz saxophonist Mike Phillips provided entertainment.
